Hey all, long time and no proper update. I wanted to check in here and let folks know what’s been going on in my life because I feel like I’ve been avoiding doing that as of late.

Bluegill Tattoo is going to be closing on January 1st, 2026. I wasn’t ready to own and operate a space as big and costly as it’s been, and finally came to the decision to part ways. My studio mates and I are still on good terms. 2025 was just not the right time to open a business.

Coming to this decision was not an easy one for me, and because of that it’s made me more avoidant then normal about…pretty much anything revolving around my job as a tattooer. I want to extend a sincere apology to those of you who’ve still been waiting on emails, or playing a longer then usual game of rescheduling tag with me.

I haven’t been able to hire the email assistant I’d intended on either, since after some unexpected expenses (and me getting sick back to back) ate up my finances for that help. I do intend on getting help with my emails in the future, but for now I appreciate your patience while I do the best I can to answer folks.

So, where does this leave those of you booked beyond Jan 1? Well, my plan is to either find a small private space similar to my Grand Ave location (for those who remember my wee room). Otherwise, I’m considering renting a booth at a shop again, because to be honest I kind of miss the routine a more established shop space offered.

Regardless, I will post on here and via my Instagram once I have that figured out. In other news, I do have some new designs for your viewing pleasure.
